Manual File Import Instructions

Importing Accounts, Courses, and Demographics through Manual File Imports

We do offer a manual import process to do one-off, small, corrective imports into our systems. Manual imports should not be considered a mechanism for prolonged, regular data importing. Manual imports create additional work for the Campus Data Manager and for Campus Labs staff.

Imports that are manually imported need to be less than 4 megabytes.

To import Account information manually, please follow these steps:
  1. Log into your Core Data Management site.
  2. Click on the Accounts button under Import Data.
  3. Use the Accounts template under "Setting Up Your File" to format your data correctly.
  4. Once the file is properly formatted and saved as .CSV file, click the "Select" button and select your Accounts file.
  5. Click the "Upload File" button.
  6. Check the Import History area at the bottom of the screen to be sure there were no Problem Rows with your file.

  6. Click the "Upload File" button
  7. Check the Import History area at the bottom of the screen to be sure there were no Problem Rows with your file.

* All demographics imports should be a complete "picture" of the student every single time. Any time there is a blank demographic field, we will assume that the previous value is no longer relevant or correct and replace it with an empty value.
